The Ghost on the Stairs takes clairvoyant Cassie on a journey she won’t forget. It leaves her un-nerved and scared – not because of it, but what it unleases within her.
Damien doesn’t believe in the paranormal, until he witnesses something he can’t explain. He is falling for Cassie but how can he love her dark side, too?
Can Cassie hold on to Damien? Can she banish the ghosts and save her relationship?”
“Karen J Mossman manages something quite unique. This is a story that will make you laugh and scare you at the same time.”

Have you Ever Seen a Ghost?

Excerpt from The Haunting by Karen J Mossman

“It’s a lovely house, Cassie – it’s all right to call you Cassie?” I nodded. “Daniel chose it. When I first went to see it, I liked it, but something felt off. I thought it was just me and ignored it. Now we’ve bought it… I’ve seen shadows. Neither of the boys believe me. I hear things too. I feel more and more uneasy, and the last time I was there, something crashed beside me and I swear I saw a ghoul on the stairs. It was horrible.” She visibly trembled at the thought.
“What do you want me to do?”
She gazed helplessly at me and shrugged. “I don’t know. Damien found you after I, well, after I got upset and told Daniel I wouldn’t move in.”
I had to admit this was intriguing to me now. “When Man- erm- Damien – took me, and I saw the house, I knew something had happened there, and it was bad. Have you tried looking up the history?”
“No, I don’t really want to. I mean, what would it solve?”
“I’m no exorcist. I can’t banish ghosts. I can try to understand them, I can advise you, but can’t promise you anything.” My curiosity had won out. I was effectively telling her I would help.
“We’d be happy to pay for your time.”
“I don’t do this for money. Payment isn’t necessary.”
Why do people always think it’s a trade? I don’t buy and sell. It’s a gift, a curse sometimes. It’s just something I can do. I never asked for it. I never trained for it.
Rachel rose to her feet. “Thank you, Cassie. I really appreciate anything you can do. If it means us selling the house again, then so be it.” She opened her handbag and handed me a card. “You can contact me here. When would be good for you to come?”
We made arrangements. Perhaps it would be okay with Damien after all. Although, I still didn’t want to go to a racing circuit.

The Haunting

I’m very pleased to present my brand new book released under the Electric Eclectic brand.

I’m a multi genre author, and only realised when I had finished writing this that it was much more than just a scary story. There is also a good romantic story, and quite a bit of humour in it, too. It really was fun to write because I was challenged early on in the year to write a romance story featuring motor sport. I knew nothing about sport, so had to do a little research. Then the next step was to decide who would be my main character.

Cassie Newbold features in my short story collection called The Adventures of Cassidy Newbold. She is a clairvoyant, and while the stories are humorous in places, they are also very dark, as Cassie has some challenging encounters. So it seemed perfect to have a feature length story and introduce a hot World Champion Moto Sport biker.

The Haunting Kindle

Genre: Horror/Humour/Romance

When a man-mountain of a guy walks into a café and asks for you by name, you sit up and take notice. Cassie is instantly attracted to Damien Mathers, who is also a World Super Bike Champion. He wants her help to banish a ghost. However, Cassie explains she is a clairvoyant, not an exorcist. Damien though, is very persuasive!

The Haunting takes Cassie on a journey she won’t forget. A ghost who leaves her un-nerved and scared – not because of it, but what it unleases within her.

Damien doesn’t believe in the paranormal, until he witness something he can’t explain. He also falling in love, but how can he love her dark side?

Can Cassie hold on to Damien?  Can she banish the ghosts and save her relationship?”

His eyes blazed, he rushed towards me with his hands outstretched. I felt a shiver rise up my back and goosebumps erupted. “Why?” I gasped as he went to grab me but couldn’t. He passed right through and it was like a block of ice filled me. I spun around to see him disappear into the darkness.

That was unnerving, and the shock left me frozen for a moment. If I hadn’t had experienced this before, I’d have been terrified.

Snapping out of it, I went over to the rail and peered down. Isabelle was on her way back up. Contorted and demented, she was worse than before, and nothing like the beautiful girl she once was. She had become a monster. Her head was twisted at an angle, her arms bent at the elbow, facing the wrong way. Her legs spindly and thin, her knees pointing in a different direction to her feet. She was the stuff of nightmares.

Silence was loud

About the Author

You would assume Karen is a big horror and paranormal fan but that that is not the case. “I hate horror films, and haven’t watch anything to do with ghosts since The Exorcist.  I wrote a story a while ago, and as often happens, I let the pen do the writing. It was supposed to be a story about a girl coping with her mother who had dementia, but it turned into something very differnt. You can read it hereSince then I wrote a story for an anthology, and Cassie Newbold was born, and I had a lot of fun creating new situations for her. So it seemed fitting to make The Haunting about her.”

Karen lives of the Isle of Anglesey in Wales with her husband and two dogs. Join her on Facebook and Instagram.

A high-pitched screeching came from somewhere, as the noise inside the house reached a crescendo. Damien struggled to keep us anchored.-1
