What is the book about?
Every marriage has its secrets…
Tina Bolotnikov, widowed after her husband, Sasha, is killed in a car accident, relocates back to her hometown on the south coast of the UK, to bring up her young son. Her life back in London with her adored husband is now nothing but a memory; a history to pass onto her son.
DS John Nightingale saw his partner killed in the line of duty and has made it his personal and professional quest to bring to justice the Russian gang responsible. Five years on and the killer is still free but as reports come in of Sasha Bolotnikov’s brother returning to the UK, John is tasked with tracking him down and following him to the seaside town of Littlehampton.
Tina finds herself an unwitting connection to a world she knew nothing about. She thought she knew her husband. She thought their past was the truth. But now as the investigation draws her closer to DS Nightingale, professional lines are blurred and crossed, and only he holds the key to her future.

Karen’s Book Buzz Review
I really did enjoy this book, the plot and story were well written with good characters. It is the first I have read from this author and I’m sure it won’t be the last.
There are two points of view, Tina, and John and they each have problems. Tina is a widow with a young son and John is a detective investigating her husband’s brother. But as with all good stories, the plot line goes much deeper as both characters have secrets and personal problems.
I love the way the story unravelled itself and the minor characters roles, like the old man living next door who Tina looked out for, shopped and sometimes made him a meal. I loved the relationship between her father and her son. These minor characters made the book so much more interesting.
And the Rest
The romance between John and Tina was what held this book together. John, the strong detective trying to do his job, but drawn into Tina. And Tina, not wanting to become physically attracted to the detective who was looking into her husband’s family, but at the same time she had been on her own too long
The reality of their situations come crashing down towards the end of the book as Tina’s life is in danger from the Russians. Can John protect her? You bet he can, but not without a lot of action on the streets of London.
An all round great read.
